The news of the passing of Rudy Sharkey, who was dearly liked, brings us great sadness.
Rudy served as the athletic director, science instructor, and football coach for Barberton. It was an honor for him to be inducted into the Ohio High School Coaches Hall of Fame, Summit County Sports Hall of Fame, and the Barberton Sports Hall of Fame.
He also had a stadium named after him where we play football. As we mourn this loss, we are now keeping Rudy’s family, friends, and the entire Barberton community in our thoughts.
We are aware that many of you have fond recollections of Rudy.
