The Raymore-Peculiar School District announced on Sunday that Paul Lichtenauer, a teacher, died on Saturday, Oct. 29.Lichtenauer taught at Ray-Pec Academy and the LEAD Center (learning, experiences, and discovery).According to the district, Lichtenauer has been “well-liked by students and fellow staff members” since joining Ray-Pec in 2019.“During his brief tenure at Ray-Pec, he oversaw projects aimed at incorporating more hands-on and real-world learning into classrooms.” “Paul’s death has made our world a poorer place,” the district said in a statement.Outside of the classroom, Lichtenauer was active in the Kansas City music scene, where his bandmates referred to him as a “treasure of a man and talented player.” In 2021, he joined the band Twice On Sunday as a guitarist.Lichtenauer also belonged to the Kansas Cycling Association.Ray-Pec Academy will have counselors available to students and staff “as they return to school this week,” as well as from 1-3 p.m. Tuesday.The cause of death has not been disclosed.Thanks for reading from Ghsplash a news publishing website from Ghana.
