Rylee William Alfonso Szkopiec, 17, of Brook, Indiana, passed away Sunday, December 11, 2022. Rylee was born in Crown Point, Indiana on November 2nd, 2005.
He is survived by his mother, Charlene Stewart of Remington, father, Brandon Szkopiec of Brook, sisters Kassidy and Shelby Szkopiec, grandmother, Shelley Szkopiec, grandparents, Success Szkopiec and Antoinette DeCastro, uncles, Jon Stewart and Casey Egan, aunts, Lindsey Egan and Nicci Abdo, cousins, Theodore Egan, Morgan Stewart, Kailee Stewart, Paiten Eaton, Brayden Abdo, Bailey Curley, his dog Coe as well as a host of extended family and friends.
He is preceded in death by grandmother, Cindy Abdo, grandfather, John E. Stewart, and great-grandma, Helen Kiley.
Rylee enjoyed/loved hunting, hanging out with family and close friends, muddin’ in his truck, being outdoors, going to races, kayaking, crescent rolls & candy, plants, making the best banana bread, woodworking and welding as well as sports.
He had such a huge heart and a sense of humor that brought out those handsome dimples with that unforgettable smile. In his short 17 years, he learned quickly how to help anyone with anything when possible. He had a soft and kind heart and was loved by all that knew him. This is a painful loss for his family and friends but he will never be forgotten.
