Who Was Lawyer And Irish Dancer Gary Healy?

Gary Healy, a New York-based Irish dance instructor and immigration attorney, died, leaving his friends and family distraught.

Gary grew up in England performing Irish dance and playing Irish music. He moved to the United States in 1998 to tour with Riverdance.

The dancer was also a law intern and an assistant at McMahon, Martine, and Gallagher, or MMG for short. Gary established his own legal firm and began working as an immigration attorney and adjudicator until his death.

Who was Gary Healy?

Gary Healy was a successful Irish dancer and a lawyer from the United States.

The lawyer was born in Birmingham, England, which has a sizable Irish community.

His father is from Loughrea in County Galway, and his mother is from Claudy in County Derry. Both of his parents have returned to Loughrea.

Healy was always interested in Irish dance, music, and Gaelic football as a child.

He had competed in a variety of events, including regional, Great Britain, British National, All-Scotland, All-Ireland, and World Championships.

Gary earned a degree in European Union law from the University of Glasgow School of Law.

He joined the MMG legal company as a plaintiff attorney when his Broadway tenure at the Gershwin Theatre ended.

He also worked with Swanson Martin & Bell’s national defense counsel team in Chicago, representing multiple defendants in asbestos cases.

Gary Healy’s death was announced after his close friend, Erin Pender LeVine, shared a poignant photo on social media.

She prayed for Gary’s partner, David Moskowitz-Healy, and his family. Gary was taken from us far too soon.

The Irish dancer died as a result of Sepsis.

He co-founded The Mullane Healy Godley Irish Dance Academy.

It is one of the most successful dance academies in America, having trained numerous American-born Irish dancers.

Gary was a member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association, the American Bar Association, the New York State Bar Association, the LGBT Bar Association of Greater New York, and the Brehon Bar Association of New York.

Healy has actively represented many actors, dancers, performers, groups, and individuals in various immigration concerns, non-immigrant visas, and student and exchange visits since 2011.
